Purpose and legal basis for the processing of personal data

The City of Norderney processes personal data when performing the tasks assigned to it by law.
In certain cases, the consent of the data subject is required. Article 6(1) GDPR stipulates that consent is not required, among other things, if the processing of data is based on legal regulations, a contract, a legal obligation or the predominant public interest.
Insofar as we obtain the consent of the data subject for the processing of personal data, this is done on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
When processing personal data that is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, this is done on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures.
Insofar as the processing of personal data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the City of Norderney is subject, this is done on the basis of Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
In the event that vital interests of the data subject or another natural person require the processing of personal data, this is done on the basis of Article 6(1)(d) GDPR.
If the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller, this is done on the basis of Article 6(1)(e) GDPR.
If the processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of the City of Norderney or a third party and if the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the former interest, this is done on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for the processing.


Disclosure to third parties

Data will only be passed on to third parties if there is a legal obligation or authorization to do so or if express consent has been given for the transfer.


Storage duration

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. Data may also be stored for reasons of statutory retention obligations to which the controller is subject.


Rights of data subjects

If you have any questions, complaints or suggestions regarding data processing, the town of Norderney will be happy to assist you in cooperation with the data protection officer. Under the provisions of the GDPR, you have certain data protection rights:

  • Right to information: You have the right to request information about the data processed by us and to have incorrect data corrected or completed (Article 15 and Article 16 GDPR). Upon request, we will provide you with a copy of the personal data (right to data portability Article 20 GDPR).

Storage of data of visitors to this website

Every time a user accesses a page from the Norderney website (www.stadt-norderney.de) and every time a file is retrieved, data about this process is stored in a log file. We would like to point out that you are not obliged to use Microsoft Bookings to make an appointment. If you do not wish to use the service, please use one of the other contact options offered to make an appointment.
