Opening access to electronic communication
The City of Norderney offers you the opportunity to communicate electronically. Section 3a of the Administrative Procedure Act in conjunction with Section 1 (1) of the Lower Saxony Administrative Procedure Act applies to electronic communication in the area of administrative procedures. According to this, the transmission of electronic documents is permitted if the recipient has opened access for this purpose. Pursuant to Section 126 (3) of the German Civil Code, the same applies in private law. The City of Norderney has opened this access in accordance with the following technical framework conditions, which, however, only apply to communication with the City of Norderney and not to third parties (links, other authorities, etc.).

The e-mail address stadt@norderney.de has been set up for form-free electronic communication (your handwritten signature is not mandatory here) by e-mail. You will also find further e-mail addresses for individual departments or persons on our website. You can also send e-mails to these addresses.
File formats
If you would like to send e-mails with file attachments to the City of Norderney, please note that the City of Norderney does not accept all file formats for security reasons.

Incoming e-mails must not exceed a size of 30 MB.

Signature and encryption
For formal electronic communication (where your handwritten signature is required by law), you must provide your document with an electronic signature. For technical and organizational reasons, the City of Norderney is currently unable to check electronic signatures for authenticity and validity. It is also not possible to decrypt encrypted e-mails. If you wish to send confidential information, please use paper-based communication in such cases.
