Frank Ulrichs has worked for the town of Norderney for over 30 years and has held the office of mayor since 2011.

As the election proposal of the SPD, CDU and FDP, he received 60.31% of the vote in the 2011 election. On May 26, 2019, Frank Ulrichs was re-elected mayor with 74.33% of the vote.
