Juleica course held successfully

In January and April 2025, Norderney teenagers Alicia Joe-Ann Hanke, Andrea Jevtic, Fiona Hausmann, Hanna Brouwer, Maxiem Roisch, Sina Lührs, Theodoros Fountoukis and Yuran Mite successfully completed a Juleica course at the youth café. With this training, they have acquired an important qualification that lays the foundation for their voluntary work with children and young people. As a visible sign of this success, all participants received the nationally recognized Youth Leader Card (Juleica).

During the two training weekends, the prospective youth leaders dealt with the diverse requirements of their future tasks in a committed manner. They acquired pedagogical basics for working with children, learned to reflect on their role as group leaders and to take on responsibility. Practical exercises, such as the development and independent implementation of games, the analysis of group processes and the moderation of conflicts, were just as much a part of the program as the discussion of important legal issues, the rights and duties of youth leaders and the prevention of sexual violence.

"It's great to see how committed young people are to our community. With the Juleica, they not only acquire important knowledge, but also take on responsibility - a benefit for Norderney and the next generation," says Mayor Frank Ulrichs.

The youth café is regularly looking for committed supervisors who would like to actively support the children's holiday care and the vacation program. Having a Juleica is a valuable qualification and opens the door to responsible tasks in the field of child and youth work. For all those who would also like to qualify for this exciting voluntary position, the Youth Café is offering free Juleica courses again in fall 2025 and spring 2026. Interested young people should be between 16 and 21 years old or have reached the age of 16 by June 2026.

Further information and registration options are available directly at the youth café. If you are interested, please contact: Andrea Holtel, Tel. 04932/8689651 or by e-mail to andrea.holtel@norderney.de
