Brewery owner Tobias Pape surprised Mayor Frank Ulrichs with the idea of brewing an exclusive beer especially for the public party on November 25 in the Conversationshaus to mark the 75th anniversary of the city's charter. During a tour of the brewing hall on the industrial estate, the head brewer explained the individual work and brewing steps to the mayor - from the raw materials to the finished beer.
There are no large conveyor belts in the brewing hall on which bottle after bottle is cleaned or filled. There is a lot of manual work to be seen in the Norderney brewery, such as checking the cleanliness of the cleaned bottles or bottling the beer, which is largely done by hand.
The mayor was impressed by the traditional craft of brewing beer, which is literally done by hand here without automation or mechanical helpers, and took the opportunity to take a sample together with Tobias Pape to measure the original gravity.
Pape and Ulrichs are certain that the anniversary beer will differ from the well-known Brauhaus beer due to its own recipe, but will certainly find many customers due to its equally good taste.
Mayor Frank Ulrichs is looking forward to the special beer for the anniversary party. "I think it's great that Tobias Pape is enriching our event with this unique beer. It not only demonstrates his great flexibility in brewing beer, but also his strong connection to the island."
