The town of Norderney presents its first energy report
As our global climate continues to change, the need for a sustainable energy policy is becoming increasingly important. In response to these challenges, the new Lower Saxony Climate Protection Act (NKlimaG) was enacted. According to Section 17 NKlimaG, every municipality is obliged for the first time to prepare and publish a comprehensive energy report for the 2022 reporting period. By disclosing energy consumption and analyzing current inventories, this report is intended to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and save energy costs.
In accordance with the requirements of the Lower Saxony Climate Protection Act, the town of Norderney has carried out a comprehensive analysis of the energy consumption and emissions of all municipal properties. The energy report provides an overview of electricity, water, wastewater, gas and local heating consumption and costs as well as their development over the past four years (2019 - 2022) on Norderney.
The publication of this report marks a milestone for the town of Norderney on the way to a more sustainable energy future. It provides a comprehensive overview of current energy trends and the energy status of municipal properties. This lays the foundations for a structured approach and cost-efficient decisions by the municipality on the road to greater energy efficiency. In addition, this report provides the impetus for a coherent energy policy and underlines the importance of joint efforts in order to successfully achieve the energy targets for the coming years. It serves as an instrument for informing the interested public about developments to date and planned measures and provides a basis for transparent dialog on the future direction of energy policy on Norderney. It provides an objective decision-making basis for setting priorities and deriving energy measures for modernization and refurbishment measures as part of municipal energy management for political bodies.
