Four long-serving employees of the City of Norderney were given a well-deserved retirement.
Mr. Klaus Visser ended his working life on 31.12.2024 after 20 years of service in the public sector. The trained electrician had been employed by the city since 2005 and worked in various areas of technical services. In 2021, Mr. Visser also took over the janitor position at the elementary school.
Mr. Klaus Kramer retired on 31.01.2025. The trained central ventilation and heating engineer began his service with the city in 1992 and can look back on over 30 years of employment in the public sector. His activities were varied - in the mornings, Mr. Kramer made sure the beaches were clean and afterwards, as fire department equipment attendant at the volunteer fire department, he took care of the maintenance of the vehicles and breathing apparatus.
Mr. Rüdiger Schmidt retired on 28.02.2025 after 35 years of service in the public sector . The trained electrician began working for the city in 1990. In 2015, Mr. Schmidt took over the janitor position at the cooperative comprehensive school. Mr. Schmidt has also been an electrical safety specialist for Technical Services since 2009.
After just over 40 years of employment in the public sector, Mr. Manfred Hahnen is retiring on 31.03.2025. The trained electrician has been employed as hall and groundsman for the sports facilities at the Mühle since 1986 and has been involved in the conversion of the sports facilities into one of the most beautiful and modern facilities in East Frisia during this time.
At a ceremony, Mayor Frank Ulrichs and Operations Manager Erik Fischer expressed the thanks and appreciation of the Norderney administration and council to the four long-serving employees for their services and wished them all the best for the future.
