PREALARM

STEP 1
Alerting the task force

STEP 2
Establishment of dike observation posts and closure of beach access points

LEVEL 3
Staffing the telephone switchboard in the town hall and other assignments

STEP 4
Staffing the municipal depots
The technical operations managers and other employees are notified and report to the respective depots.

STEP 5
Provision of vehicles and equipment by contractors
The relevant companies are informed. They must provide technical equipment and their vehicles ready for use (with a full tank of fuel) and with operating personnel.
The petrol stations are informed of the pre-alarm with the information that it must be possible to dispense fuel even in the event of a power failure and that it is not permitted to dispense fuel to private individuals during a disaster.

ALARM

STEP 1
Alerting all organizations and all operational persons on the island

In the event of a storm surge, the mayor or his representative in the office will sound the alarm by loudspeaker announcements, radio messages or possibly hand-held sirens.
All organizations and non-organized operational persons must immediately go to the following standby rooms.

a) Immediate readiness of the volunteer fire department
If not already alerted otherwise, the members of the volunteer fire department will go to the fire station.

b) Immediate readiness of city employees
All city employees, unless they are organized and have already been notified, go to the fire station.

c) Immediate readiness of the DRK
All helpers of the DRK, if not already alerted otherwise, go to the standby center.

d) Technically trained personnel make themselves available to the city's operational commanders.

e) Immediate readiness of all other operational personnel
All other operational personnel, unless they are required for special tasks, must go to the fire station. Spades and shovels as well as weather-
resistant clothing must be brought, if available.

 

STEP 2
Notification of assembly points for evacuees

Collection points for evacuees are:

  • Elementary school, Jann-Berghaus-Str. 56
  • and KGS, An der Mühle 2

The buildings designated for reception are opened. The helpers of the German Red Cross as well as the head teachers and teachers of the respective schools take care of the evacuees in the reception rooms.
All teaching staff must be present in the event of an alarm.
If necessary, additional rooms are available for the care and/or further accommodation of evacuees.

 

STEP 3
Provision of additional vehicles
The following vehicles are also requested for operations - especially for evacuation measures:

  1. Cabs
  2. Rental car
  3. Vehicles of commercial and craft businesses
  4. Private vehicles


STEP 4
Evacuation measures
The buildings or districts to be evacuated are notified by loudspeaker vehicles, if necessary in conjunction with radio announcements.
Persons between the ages of 18 and 67 who are able to work are excluded from the evacuation, unless they are subject to other obligations.
