Lost and found office

Lost and found office

Lost property can be handed in at the Citizens' Office - ground floor room E02 - of the City of Norderney. You will then receive a receipt for the lost property. Lost property, such as bicycles, can also be kept at home by the finder after it has been reported to the Citizens' Office/Technical Services Norderney and the finder wishes to take ownership of the lost property after six months. There is no administration fee.

You can now also use the digital lost and found office for an overview of lost property or to report lost and found.

Digital lost and found office

You can report found bicycles to the town of Norderney (04932 / 920-214) during the opening hours of the town hall, Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm.

Retention periods:
The retention period is 6 months after notification of the find. If the lost property is not collected by the owner, you can collect the item after the retention period has expired against payment of the administration fee.

The finder's fee to be paid by the loser is 5% of the estimated value for a value of up to €500, and 3% of the added value above this.

Legal basis
The law on lost property is based on §965ff of the German Civil Code (BGB)
