Neighborhood management and community work
What is community work?
Community work is a participatory approach to social work that is geared towards local residents. The aim is to work together to find solutions and approaches to existing challenges. The aim is not only to ask people about their living situation, but also to actively involve them in local developments. Through this co-design, they can define their needs themselves and become active accordingly.

- Meeting places and green spaces: Are suitable places for meeting and recreation lacking? Are there enough public green spaces?
- Living together: How can social coexistence be strengthened?
- School and education: What measures can improve the educational landscape on the island?
- Health promotion: What health promotion services are available and how can they be expanded?
- Sports and leisure: Are there enough leisure and sports facilities available?
- Environment and transport: How can the environment be protected and transport optimized?

Invitation to cooperate
We cordially invite the entire island community to actively participate in community work. Your ideas and commitment are crucial to improving the quality of life on Norderney. Only through your involvement can we work together to make a difference to our beautiful island and make it an even better place to live.
Projects
The area of community work is closely linked to the European LEADER funding program, especially for projects with a higher investment volume. Here, we work together to implement projects that improve coexistence in our region and promote the quality of life for all residents.
