Life on Norderney

Life on Norderney

Living on the island is something special - the quality of life is high. This is not only due to our unique nature, but also to the island's community. Norderney currently has around 6,000 inhabitants from over 60 nations.

Those who live here have the urban advantages of a town with many restaurants, numerous retail outlets, a varied cinema programme in the Kurtheater, various sporting and cultural events, not forgetting the many festivals and celebrations organized by the island clubs and other organizations. Those who prefer a quieter pace will find endless expanses, beaches and fabulous nature in the east of the island.

It is high season on the island from spring to late autumn and this is characterized by tourism. This can be exhausting at times for those who work there, but when you go to the beach after work and enjoy the truly sensational sunsets, it makes up for some of the stress of the day.

In the categories below you will find information about everyday life on our beautiful island.
